Food arrives! How Child Sponsorship Impacts and Changes Lives

Just this week, a fresh supply of grain, beans, oil, dried fish and spices arrived into the Bolgatanga market. These items came with one destination in mind: VEA!  The school children at Vea’s Primary School in Upper East Ghana, receive a hot meal each and every  school day.  This has not always been the case. As recently as June, 2014, child Sponsorship was ensuring that the school children at Vea Primary received a hot lunch, by covering the meals two days each week, while another group was covering the remaining three days. Upon our arrival in July, we discovered that the other group could no longer afford to cover their commitment to the school. What did this mean? It meant that the children were going hungry. Real Life did not have the sponsorship commitment to feed the entire school. As a community, Real Life, could not let this continue. We pulled together, and we vowed to provide a hot lunch each and every school day for the duration of the 2014-2015 school year. Just this week, the second supply of food arrived in the local market in Bolgatanga, and within hours, found its way into the school food storerooms.

Please, do not let a child go without a hot lunch in Vea. Sponsorship of a child helps to ensure that no child goes a school day without a hot meal. Thank you for continuing to be the change!
